Insurance Reinstatement & Loss Adjusting

Putting a damaged building back, properly

Insurance Reinstatement & Loss Adjusting

A fire, a flood, an escape of water or a storm leaves a building that cannot be used. Getting it back is rarely a single trade, and it has to be done in a way the insurer will accept and pay for.

We work on reinstatement for both commercial and residential property: making safe first, then stripping out what cannot be saved, then rebuilding to the standard the policy requires and the building deserves.

What is included

The whole job, not part of it

  • Make safe

First attendance to make the building safe and secure, stop further damage and get it weathertight.

  • Strip-out & drying

Removing damaged fabric, and working with drying and specialist cleaning before anything is rebuilt over it.

  • Schedule of works

A costed schedule set out the way an adjuster needs to read it, so the claim can be agreed without a fight.

  • Full reinstatement

Structure, plaster, joinery, decoration, electrics and plumbing, taken back to the condition before the loss.

  • Matching existing work

Mouldings, cornice, flooring and joinery matched to what was there, which matters most in period and listed property.

  • Working around occupation

Phased so a business can keep trading, or a household can keep living upstairs, wherever that is safe.

How it runs

Start to handover

  1. 01

    First attendance

We get to the property, make it safe, and record the damage properly while the evidence is still there.

  2. 02

    Scope and schedule

A written scope and costed schedule for the insurer or loss adjuster, with the reasoning behind each item.

  3. 03

    Agree the claim

We deal with the adjuster directly, so the policyholder is not stuck translating between builder and insurer.

  4. 04

    Reinstate

One team through strip-out, rebuild and finishing, with the property secured throughout.

  5. 05

    Hand back

Snagged, certificated and handed back, with the paperwork the claim needs to close.

Who we work with

  • Insurers and loss adjusters appointing a contractor
  • Managing agents and landlords with a damaged building
  • Businesses facing interruption after a fire or flood
  • Homeowners dealing with a major claim
  • Owners of period and listed property needing matched reinstatement
